Federal background check bills
The House passed two bills: H.R.8 that will strengthen background checks; H.R.1446 that require federal background checks on commercial gun sales and stronger enforcement requirements to prevent dangerous individuals from gaining easy access to firearms.
S.529 (the Senate companion bill to H.R.8) is in committee. There is no companion bill to H.R.1446.
