OUR PARTNERS
COALITION OF CAPITAL DISTRICT PROGRESSIVES (CCRP)
CCRP is a volunteer, grassroots association of progressive activist groups in Upstate New York encompassing Albany, Rensselaer, Schenectady, Saratoga and Washington counties. Leaders and representatives from these groups meet regularly to:
Learn about current issues, governmental actions and candidates for office
Share information about each group’s activities
Support, plan and execute activities of mutual interest to maximize community attendance and impact.
We hope our efforts promote a fairer, kinder, and healthier America. We are stronger together.
PROGRESSIVE SCHENECTADY
Progressive Schenectady was created in the aftermath of the 2016 Presidential election and our concern about the future of our community and our country. Three Niskayuna women created this group as a means of support and activism against the hateful rhetoric and divisiveness in the post-election era. Having deep and legitimate concern for immigrant rights, women’s reproductive rights, civil liberties and more, Progressive Schenectady has held educational, fundraising and social events all with the goal of “activism made easy”. None of the organization’s three founders were activists, so we wanted to create an organization that allowed people with no experience to get involved in a welcoming, unintimidating environment.
